Before you calculate, make sure the power supply output voltage matches the LED strip voltage.
LED Strip Power Supply Calculator
How to Calculate the Right Power Supply for LED Strip Lights
12V LED Strip → 12V Power Supply
24V LED Strip → 24V Power Supply
Calculate the right power supply wattage for your LED strip lighting project based on the LED strip length, watts per foot, and installation environment.
Power Supply Calculator – Designed just for You
Enter your LED strip light length and wattage per foot, get the power supply you need in seconds.
Power Calculator
The power supply you need is
1. Enter the LED Strip Length
Enter the total length of LED strip that will be connected to the power supply.
2. Enter the Watts per Foot
Check the LED strip specifications for its power consumption, typically listed in watts per foot (W/ft).
Total LED Load = Length × Watts per Foot
For example:
30 ft × 3 W/ft = 90W
Don't know the watts per foot? Check the LED strip product page or data sheet.

3. Select the Installation Environment
The calculator adds additional power supply capacity based on the installation environment:
Indoor — 125%
Regular Outdoor — 150%
Harsh Outdoor — 200%
Additional capacity helps avoid operating the power supply continuously at its maximum rated load. The GL LED calculator applies a higher capacity factor for more demanding installation environments.
Once calculated, select a power supply that meets or exceeds the recommended wattage.
