INFINITE Series LED strip light features a design that allows the strip light to run continuously up to 65ft without voltage drop or brightness variations with a single power supply (regular LED strip lights typically have a maximum run of 16.4ft). This feature makes the INFINITE model strip light perfect for back lighting, ambient lighting, accent décor, cove lighting, under cabinet lighting, bookshelf lighting, or other indoor applications that have a long-distance requirement.
The LED strip light has a low power output of 3W per foot and generates a brightness of up to 234LM/ft. Different color temperatures are available, including 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K. The regular density LED tape light can be easily cut into separate 6-LED segments (1 31/32 inches) and installed with its convenient peel-and-stick 3M VHB adhesive backing (Click to see How to apply 3M double-sided tape properly). With a CRI of 90+, the strip light provides rendering with pure illumination, enhancing the vibrancy and accuracy of colors and displays.
This LED strip light requires a 24VDC transformer, and it can be easily dimmed using compatible power supplies and controllers. GL LED provides different options on transformers, controllers, and aluminum channels (extrusions) that are compatible with the strip light.
Features: · Continuous run up to 65 ft with even light · Perfect for ambient light · Quick installation, labor cost saving
Note: All IP65-rated products for wet locations only, cannot be used in water or in places where water might accumulate.
Why do you need to consider the maximum run of an LED strip light?
When current flows through the copper traces on an LED strip, the resistance of the copper causes a voltage drop to occur. This voltage drop can be significant and affect the brightness of the strip light. The amount of voltage drop is dependent on various factors, such as the length of the LED strip, the thickness of the copper traces, the current flowing through the strip, and the distance between the power source and the farthest point on the strip.
Manufacturers typically specify a maximum run distance for their LED strip lights, which is noted on the specification sheet. Within the maximum run length, no apparent voltage drop will be observed with an appropriate power supply or transformer. However, if the specified maximum run distance is exceeded, the LED strip lights may become dim or less bright as intended.
If you plan on installing more than the maximum run of your LED strip lights, it's necessary to wire additional strip sections separately to the power supply instead of extending directly from the previous strip. This prevents a voltage drop, ensuring that your LED strip lights remain bright and vibrant.
